Basketball Recap: Murray Comes Up Short

Murray and Hurricane squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Murray had to settle for second. They fell 71-61 to the Hurricane Tigers.

Despite the loss, Murray still got an impressive performance from Kaiden Nelson, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Nelson's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Treyce Wilson, who went 6-for-10 en route to 12 points.

RJ Hurst went supernova for Hurricane, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points. Thanks to that strong game, Hurst now owns an excellent 40.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Calan Hughes, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Murray's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Hurricane, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Murray does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hurricane, they will square off against Ridgeline at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hurricane is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
