In what's become a running theme this season, the SkyView Academy Hawks gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 84-34 victory over Union Colony Prep on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-21.
Kyle Cosart was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Coberly, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Union Colony Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josiah Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Union Colony Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as SkyView Academy racked up 26 assists.
The win makes it two in a row for SkyView Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Union Colony Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
SkyView Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lyons at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully SkyView Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lyons in Colorado (SkyView Academy is ranked 101st, while Lyons is ranked 260th). As for Union Colony Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Gilpin County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Colony Prep is facing Gilpin County at the right time seeing as Gilpin County is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
