Belmont extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 3-5. They fell 10-6 to the Winchester Red & Black. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marauders of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Olivia Ormond put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Guiliana Mastrangelo made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Avery Reinold was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Winchester, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
On Winchester's side, the team relied heavily on Katherine Lisy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Lisy's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Anna D'Antonio, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Belmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Burlington at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Winchester will take on rival Wakefield Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
