It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Miller Rebels can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 44-27 to San Bernardino. Miller's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Eric Copeland, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
San Bernardino's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henry Hernandez, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Hernandez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Alvarez, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for San Bernardino, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Bernardino is on the road again on Friday and play against Walnut at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Walnut is ranked 675th, while San Bernardino is ranked 696th).
