The Green Mountain Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Dakota Ridge Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Green Mountain has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with nine straight losses, while Dakota Ridge will come in with four straight wins.
Green Mountain came into this matchup off a tough 14-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bear Creek by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since April 24, 2025.
Cooper Jones was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Green Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pierson Drake, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dakota Ridge). Everything went their way against Lakewood on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Dakota Ridge also got a great performance from Bo Bixby as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
At the plate, Jakson Barrett was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Medina, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Dakota Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Dakota Ridge's record is now 4-5. As for Green Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
