The Bunkie Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Bolton Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bunkie unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. The contest between Bunkie and Jena wasn't particularly close, with Bunkie falling 38-22.
The losing side was boosted by Dillon Compton, who rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns. Tanner Lemoine also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Bolton, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by Marksville 56-0 on Thursday.
Bunkie's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Bolton, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Bunkie took their win against Bolton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 47-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bunkie since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
