Softball Recap: Bishop's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Bishop posted their closest victory since March 15th on Tuesday. They skirted past Foothills Christian 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 back in April.

Jessica Yao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop's saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Bravo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Bishop's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8-1. As for Foothills Christian, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bishop's will challenge rival Francis Parker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Foothills Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Escondido Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.9, the Tigers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
