Englewood struggled with assists on Thursday (Eagle Ridge Academy had 900% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Englewood had to suffer through a rough 58-27 loss at the hands of Eagle Ridge Academy. Englewood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
Englewood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonah Singer, who scored 13 points, and Dominic Dever who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds. Singer scored a full 48.1% of Englewood's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Aurora Central took a serious blow against Overland on Friday, falling 77-30.
Gabou (Ben) Camara put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 3 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Englewood and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Aurora Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Englewood came up short against Aurora Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 61-51. Thankfully for Englewood, Cia'Reis Curby (who scored 24 points along with 3 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
