The University Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 88-81 to Sage Hill. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (73), University still had to take the loss.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Debarge, who scored 28 points along with nine assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Andrew Bogard, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists.
University has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Sage Hill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will face off against Beckman at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beckman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University in California (Beckman is ranked 291st, while University is ranked 620th). As for Sage Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Laguna Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Laguna Hills has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
