Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fowler). They came out on top against the Swink Lions by a score of 51-38 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Lions back in January, they had to take a 43-34 loss.
Fowler had a senior duo take command as Jordan Bates posted 18 points along with five boards and three steals and Andrea Maestas put up 14 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bates has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Presley Manchego, who had nine points.
Fowler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Despite the loss, Swink still got an impressive performance from Jocelynn James, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney James, who earned eight points.
Fowler's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Swink, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
