After a string of four wins, the Washington Township Senators's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-43 walloping at the hands of Westville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Washington Township has scored all season.
Washington Township's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Armstrong, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Armstrong has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Armstrong, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Hannon, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Jackson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Washington Township's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Westville, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Washington Township will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Westville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. As for they, they will square off against Hebron at TBD. Hebron has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
