Mays is 8-0 against Banneker since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mays Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Banneker Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Mays has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 562 points over their last eight contests.
Even though Creekside scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Mays still came out on top. Everything went Mays' way against Creekside as Mays made off with a 81-57 victory. With Mays ahead 46-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Mays' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Germani Wilson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Wilson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Derron Lindsey ii, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists.
Meanwhile, Banneker pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 84-62 loss to Jackson might stick with them for a while. Banneker has not had much luck with Jackson recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Mays is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Banneker, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Mays strolled past Banneker in their previous meeting on January 2nd by a score of 62-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mays since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
