Volleyball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

The Hoover Vikings came up short against the St. Ursula Academy Arrows on Saturday and fell 3-1.

While Hoover ultimately came up short, they really made St. Ursula Academy work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Hoover still got an impressive performance from Claire Jurica, who had five digs and two aces. Jurica is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 25 every time she's taken the court this season.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for St. Ursula Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will host Perry at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Ursula Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Calvert at 6:30 p.m.
