Mellen won the last time they faced Mercer and things went their way on Friday too. The Mellen Granite Diggers took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-20 win over the Mercer Tigers. The Granite Diggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Mellen's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. As for Mercer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mellen will head out to challenge Solon Springs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercer, they will head out on the road to face off against Bayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bayfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Mercer likes a good challenge.
