Kennedy is 0-10 against Newark Memorial since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kennedy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against American as they made off with a 9-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won three matches in a row.
Marilyn Rivas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Kennedy got a massive performance out of Danica Harper, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Harper has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Hannah Cornell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Newark Memorial entered their tilt with Washington on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Huskies 16-0.
Like Kennedy, Newark Memorial also got a great game from a two-way player: Ariana Romo. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Romo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Andrea Tall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Mahlyah Sao, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Newark Memorial pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kennedy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Newark Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Kennedy might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Newark Memorial in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
