Even though the Delta Rabbits scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Carbon Dinos still came out on top. Carbon took their contest against Delta 66-57. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carbon also won the last time the pair played on January 3rd.
Carbon was led to victory by Kahner Raby and Zeke Willson. Raby dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Willson scored 17 points along with two steals. Raby has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryker Butler, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cai Henderson. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Chase, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Delta struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Carbon racked up 14 assists.
Carbon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Delta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbon will square off against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richfield will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Delta, they will head out on the road to face off against North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (North Sanpete is ranked 90th, while Delta is ranked 98th).
