Kyleigh Mace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Archbishop Mitty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Hicks, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory was able to grind out a solid win over Mercy on Monday, taking the game 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fightin' Irish.
Kaylen Edora was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Edora was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Barlesi, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Francesca Moralejo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Mitty, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5-1.
