Woodward Academy is 6-0 against Mundy's Mill since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Woodward Academy War Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Mundy's Mill Tigers at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Woodward Academy pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 81-60 defeat at the hands of Galloway. While losing is never fun, Woodward Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Galloway is ranked 29th).
Woodward Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kameron Herring, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Delaney Cooper who scored 11 points along with 5 steals. The contest was Herring's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kami Whitner was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Mundy's Mill didn't have too much trouble with North Clayton at home on Saturday as they won 40-25.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mundy's Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amera Steadmon, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Katelynn Owens, who scored 7 points.
Their wins bumped Woodward Academy to 3-2 and Galloway to 4-2.
Everything came up roses for Woodward Academy against Mundy's Mill when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 76-46 win. Will Woodward Academy repeat their success, or does Mundy's Mill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
