The HOPE Christian Academy Lions were the 65-56 winner over the Grace Christian Academy EAGLES when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. HOPE Christian Academy fell 60-53 to Grace Christian Academy on Monday. HOPE Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Riesberg, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Riesberg has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Francis, who scored 11 points along with seven assists.
HOPE Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. HOPE Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Grace Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Strong Rock Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday.
