St. John hadn't done well against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Islanders came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 8-4. The victory was nothing new for the Islanders as they're now sitting on four straight.

Oliver Jayne made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Jayne was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of St. John's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Antonio Hernandez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. St. John's is 5-1 when Hernandez posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Robert Grant, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

St. John's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's will square off against Branchville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, they will face off against Pinewood Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
