Lakeside unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Evans by a score of 65-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Lakeside has suffered yet this season.
Despite their loss, Lakeside saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ty Jones, who scored 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. Jones is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Mi?keal Grissom was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, New Hampstead waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took down Burke County 81-66.
Lakeside bumped their record down to 9-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Hampstead, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
