South Sequoia recap Nov. 7, 2012
Wasco extended the longest winning streak in South Sequoia this week by beating Shafter, 56-3. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Wasco took down the Generals 56-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Isaiah Sharp ran for 223 yards and caught one passes for 25 yards in the win.
Vaughn Richardson put up the best numbers through the air as Taft bested Kennedy. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 239 yards and four touchdowns. Richardson's favorite target this week was Steven Gee, who caught five passes for 72 yards.
Edwin Villa was the best wideout in the league this week as the Thunderbirds lost to the Wildcats. Villa racked up six receptions for 108 yards. Jose Gutierrez helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching four balls for 25 yards.
On the ground, Russ Prado's team's Sharp has rushed for 2030 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gee. The Taft star has 51 catches for 1030 yards.
The top two teams in South Sequoia will face off this week when first place Wasco takes on second place Bakersfield Christian. Last week, the Tigers beat Shafter, while Bakersfield Christian defeated Arvin.
So far this year, Kyle Millwee has thrown for 1851 yards with 89 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Wasco led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Ricky Ishida's team. Sharp in the win.
