The Chatham Charter Knights came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by River Mill at home to the tune of 61-21. Chatham Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Meah Brooks, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Headen, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Chatham Charter's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for River Mill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Chatham Charter will head out on the road to square off against Ascend Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ascend Leadership comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for River Mill, they will be playing at home against Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southern Wake Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
