Softball Recap: Ooltewah Wins Going Away Against Chattanooga Central

While Ooltewah didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Chattanooga Central Pounders with a sharp 10-3 win on Thursday. Considering the Owls have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaeda Tucker made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Kaylin Leblanc was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Keely Miller was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Ooltewah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Ooltewah's record is now 6-1. As for Chattanooga Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Ooltewah will take on Sweetwater at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chattanooga Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Tyner Academy on the 13th.
