Kickapoo is 10-0 against De Soto since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kickapoo Panthers will head out on the road to take on the De Soto Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Kickapoo beat Boscobel 58-47.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, De Soto beat Ithaca 52-47 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for De Soto.
De Soto found their leader in underclassman Kylee Venner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Venner has scored at least a third of De Soto's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Gilman, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Kickapoo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for De Soto, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Everything went Kickapoo's way against De Soto when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Kickapoo made off with a 51-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kickapoo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
