California is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while San Ramon Valley is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The California Grizzlies will take on the San Ramon Valley Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. California will be strutting in after a win while San Ramon Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, California's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Monte Vista by a score of 21-14.
The critical scores for California came from Sayyidi Abdul-Kareem, Luke Taylor, and Derek Trottier.
Meanwhile, San Ramon Valley faced De La Salle in a battle between two of the state's top teams. San Ramon Valley fell to De La Salle 33-27. Despite 68 more yards than De La Salle, San Ramon Valley couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the defeat, San Ramon Valley got a solid performance out of Luke Baker, who rushed for 181 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Baker is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played.
California has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, San Ramon Valley fell to 6-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. California commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like San Ramon Valley struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
California lost to San Ramon Valley at home by a decisive 38-21 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will California have more luck at home instead of on the road?
