The Starr's Mill Panthers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past Central with a 35-29 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Starr's Mill sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Central's loss came despite strong showings from Jonaz Walton and Jr Harris. Walton rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Harris threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Starr's Mill's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Central, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Starr's Mill will take on Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perry is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
