On Tuesday, Parkland strolled past Austin with points to spare, taking the game 53-38.
Parkland had a senior duo take command as Justin Rodriguez scored 15 points along with 5 steals and Lans Alansalon scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Diego Castillo, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Clint was the victim of a tough 50-28 loss at the hands of Ysleta on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clint in their matchups with Ysleta: they've now lost six in a row.
Clint got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Nathan Calleros and
Emilio Rodriguez, who each put up eight points.
Parkland pushed their record up to 3-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Clint, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Parkland have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Clint struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
