Softball Recap: Lindale Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lindale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Kemp Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kenlee Keith looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Wilson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Watkins, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Lindale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 17 consecutive contests.

Lindale's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Kemp, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lindale is set to face off against their familiar foe Brownsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kemp will challenge rival Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
