Beloit Memorial is a perfect 4-0 against Elkhorn since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Purple Knights will be playing at home against the Elks at 4:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Beloit Memorial has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Elkhorn will arrive with six straight wins.
Beloit Memorial couldn't beat Badger on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Purple Knights fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 9-8.
Brooklynne Hereford-Foster made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Rochester, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
While Elkhorn didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Waterford on Thursday. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Elks yet this season.
Veronica Siegler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Siegler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Elkhorn got a massive performance out of Ella Uhlenhake, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Marlee Wester was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Elkhorn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waterford only managed two hits.
Elkhorn's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Beloit Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Beloit Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against Elkhorn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Purple Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Elks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
