The Olympic Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Berry. Olympic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Berry apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Olympic lost, one person who can't be blamed is DEANGELO HALL. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. HALL has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of RICO JACKSON, who scored ten points.
Berry had a senior duo take command as Zymiere Chester scored 21 points along with five rebounds and Savion Kinard dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Matthew Tyler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Olympic has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Berry, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic will take on South Mecklenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Mecklenburg is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Berry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Myers Park at 7:30 p.m. Myers Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
