The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shelton, who took down 30th ranked Amity Regional, 34-28. Mark Piccirillo threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 61 yards in the win.
Hamden took down Law 30-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
David Attolino was the most productive running back in Southern Connecticut Division I - West this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 122 yards as the Spartans topped the Spartans. James Semmonella also contributed to the rushing game with 115 yards on the ground.
Pingree was the best wideout in the league this week as Shelton beat Amity Regional. Pingree tallied five receptions for 78 yards. Eddie Kochiss helped Shelton's passing attack out by catching five balls for 64 yards.
Jeff Roy's team's Piccirillo and Kyle Drost have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Piccirillo has thrown for 490 yards this season, while Drost has 10 catches for 154 yards. Semmonella from Alex DeAngelo's team leads the league in rushing with 360 yards.
A big matchup in Southern Connecticut Division I - West this week will be when Fairfield Prep takes on the Gaels. The Jesuits are currently in third, while Shelton is in second.
The Gaels made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,111 from 5,176. The improvement came about via a 34-28 victory over the Spartans last week.
