The O'Neal Falcons stacked a 17th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past South Wake 53-30. The team accrued 43 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Despite the defeat, South Wake saw an underclassman step up: Rebekah Hartzell scored eight points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Jones, who scored four points along with three steals.
The victory (which was O'Neal's sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for South Wake, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. O'Neal's road trip will continue as they head out to face Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Trinity Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while O'Neal is ranked 37th). As for South Wake, they will head out on the road to face off against Chatham HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
