The Escalon Cougars had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ripon 40-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Escalon, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Joshua Graham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jamin Miller was another key contributor, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Escalon's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Ripon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Escalon will head out on the road to face off against Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Escalon is ranked 93rd). As for Ripon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hughson at 7:30 p.m. Hughson and Ripon are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
