Steele entered their tilt with Avon on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Steele's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Avon, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Steele will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northview at 3:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Avon, they have already played their next game, an 8-7 victory against North Ridgeville on the 30th.
