The Bellefontaine Chieftains extended their postseason success on Friday against the Granville Blue Aces. They walked away with a 29-21 win over the Blue Aces. The win was familiar territory for Bellefontaine who now have seven in a row.
Granville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Dante Varrasso, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Beckett Long, who threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
Bellefontaine's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points per game. As for Granville, their loss ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Bellefontaine will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Watterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Watterson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Granville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
