The Homer Knights will challenge the Bloomfield Bees at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Homer is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.
Homer proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 21) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Bancroft-Rosalie 61-59. The score was all tied up 37-37 at the break, but the Knights were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexandra Albrecht, who went 7-for-12 from beyond the arc to rack up 23 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Albrecht also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Janessa Overgaard, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 boards.
Homer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bloomfield's strategy against Creighton on Thursday. Bloomfield was the clear victors by a 57-34 margin over Creighton.
Homer better keep an eye on Madyson Mlady. She was instrumental in Bloomfield's win, dropping a double-double with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Mlady's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinna Lovell, who posted eight points.
Homer's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Bloomfield, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 14-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Homer has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Bloomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Homer took their win against Bloomfield in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 65-44. Will Homer repeat their success, or does Bloomfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
