The Eagle Mustangs entered their tilt with the Nampa Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Eagle enjoyed a cozy 57-43 win over Nampa on Thursday. Given Eagle's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Nampa is ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eagle's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Pugh, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Cal Huish, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Eagle's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Nampa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Eagle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-40 win vs. Borah on the 10th. Nampa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
