The Scott Skyhawks struggled with assists on Friday (the Sissonville Indians had 16 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Scott was outmatched by the Indians on the road and fell 68-38. If Scott was looking for revenge after losing 52-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Scott lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kelsey Harper. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Haven Tomblin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Scott struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kynadee Britton was her usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with five steals and two blocks for Sissonville. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Britton has scored at least a third of Sissonville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaela Ullman, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Scott's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Sissonville, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Scott will take on the Big Blacks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sissonville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Winfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
