The Waldron Mohawks can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Morristown by a score of 44-33. That looming 44-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Waldron yet this season.
Lucas Shaw was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Max Jones, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Despite the loss, Morristown still got an impressive performance from Colin Kieninger, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Kieninger scored a full 54.5% of Morristown's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Crim, who scored ten points.
Waldron's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Morristown, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Waldron will challenge Milan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Milan is ranked 378th, while Waldron is ranked 355th). Morristown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri-Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in Tri-Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
