The Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-0 victory over Ridge Spring-Monetta. The victory was familiar territory for Christ Church Episcopal who now have seven in a row.
Dashun Reeder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Reeder was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Tucker Hendrix was another key contributor, throwing for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Christ Church Episcopal's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Cooper Hronchek was the leader with two sacks.
Christ Church Episcopal's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Ridge Spring-Monetta and 2-8 Ware Shoals (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.9% over those games). As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Christ Church Episcopal will look to defend their home field on Friday against McBee at 7:30 p.m. McBee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Ridge Spring-Monetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
