The Livingston Wolves were the 59-55 winner over the Hughson Huskies when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Livingston took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hughson. Livingston's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Livingston lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaac Baez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baez has scored all season. Jayshaan Bains was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six assists.
Even though they lost, Livingston were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Hughson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Delgado, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Delgado is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Deagan Bell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Livingston has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Hughson, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston will take on Ripon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ripon Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Livingston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hughson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hilmar at 7:00 p.m. Hughson is facing Hilmar at the right time seeing as Hilmar is stuck on a eight-game losing streak.
