This season hasn't been kind to the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They fell 49-41 to Wesley Chapel on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Wiregrass Ranch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Wesley Chapel is ranked 226th).
Despite the loss, Wiregrass Ranch had strong showings from Solei Sowell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, and Tennae Cabral, who scored 6 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals. Sowell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andralee Keim, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wesley Chapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sanai Forrester-Jhagroo, who scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Forrester-Jhagroo has scored at least 25% of Wesley Chapel's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Sloan, who scored 7 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Wiregrass Ranch has fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Wesley Chapel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wiregrass Ranch will take on Land O' Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wesley Chapel, they will be playing at home against Wharton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
