The Prairie Heights Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Prairie Heights is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Prairie Heights struggled with assists on Saturday (Eastside had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Prairie Heights received a tough blow as they fell 48-34 to Eastside.
Despite the loss, Prairie Heights saw an underclassman step up: Cade Bachelor scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Stoy, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, South Bend Career Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Culver Academies on the road and fell 61-32. While losing is never fun, South Bend Career Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Culver Academies is ranked 125th).
Prairie Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for South Bend Career Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Prairie Heights took their victory against South Bend Career Academy in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 84-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was South Bend Career Academy's Tyvon Henry, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
