The Belleview Rattlers and the Lecanto Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Belleview Rattlers had to settle for second. They took a 58-39 bruising from the Panthers. Belleview's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Belleview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Albanis Mogollon, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Mogollon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Briyanna Miles, who scored 14 points along with six steals.
Belleview's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Lecanto, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Belleview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lecanto, they will take on Leesburg at TBD on Friday. Leesburg is coming into the game with 11 straight victories on the road, meaning Lecanto will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
