3A Region II District 13 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Pleasant Grove was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in 3A Region II District 13. Earlier in the week, the Hawks defeated Commerce 31-27.
Pleasant Grove moved up to 465 from 663 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Kevin Davis's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 31-27 win over the Tigers.
Paris's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keandre Robinson threw for 120 and two touchdowns and Kenny Mason had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Robinson chipped in 97 yards. Quay Henderson helped Paris' passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.
Paris' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robinson has thrown for 325 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Mason has eight catches for 195 yards. Robinson also leads the league in rushing with 169 yards.
The Hawks and Commerce played the most hotly contested game in 3A Region II District 13 this week, with the Hawks eventually emerging with a 31-27 victory.
