The Altamont Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Hillsboro 66-32 at home. Winning may never get old, but Altamont sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Altamont had a senior duo take command as Kaidyn Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds and Eli Miller scored 15 points. The contest was Miller's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Milleville, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Several Hiltoppers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Stewart, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Nathan Matoush was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Altamont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hillsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Altamont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Clay/Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. North Clay/Clay City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Altamont is ranked 172nd). As for Hillsboro, they will take on Litchfield at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Litchfield is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
