On Saturday, Cardinal Gibbons came up short against North Raleigh Christian Academy and fell 60-53.
Despite the loss, Cardinal Gibbons still got an impressive performance from Aiden Smalls, who scored 26 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smalls has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ronny Turner, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Dickerson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennen Jefferson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Cardinal Gibbons' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Cardinal Gibbons will head out on the road to square off against Enloe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enloe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Cardinal Gibbons is ranked 92nd). As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Forest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 443 points over their last seven matchups.
