Basketball Recap: York Country Day Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

York Country Day put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Christian School of York to the tune of 79-31. Given York Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Christian School of York is ranked 713th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

York Country Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Maus out in front who went 8 of 12 on his way to 23 points and four steals. Sincere Burgos was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight assists and six steals.

York Country Day's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Christian School of York, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

York Country Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-27 win against Columbia on the 18th. As for Christian School of York, they will welcome West Shore Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
