The Columbia Academy Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Columbia Academy came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 61-49.
Leading Columbia Academy to victory were Reese Shirley and Charley rae Hutchison. Shirley dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Hutchison scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hutchison has scored all season.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katelin Cole, who scored 15 points. Cole is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Mclay, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Columbia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Battle Ground Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Academy will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. University School of Nashville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the LIONS at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
